Jackson, who has failed to identify or develop a quarterback in Cleveland to this point and earned considerable criticism for how he handled rookie DeShone Kizer last season, is fairly set in his ways and has offensive concepts he strongly believes in. And he already hired a quarterback coach a few weeks back that he knows well through his Bengals ties in Ken Zampese, who didn’t make it through September in Cincy last season.
When did Carson [Wentz] go down? Since that point, no one’s given us a chance, Eagles coach Doug Pederson said, referring to the quarterback’s Dec. 10 ACL tear. I understand Carson’s a great player, but every week our guys are hearing the same thing. Now, all of a sudden, we’re not good enough? We’re 13-3, best record in football, home-field advantage throughout.
The guys are gonna motivate themselves based on what they’ve heard for the last month. It really doesn’t matter what you guys talk about because [our] locker room is united. I’ll go to bat for every one of those guys. I’ll go to war for every one of those guys in that dressing room.
Boykin completed 7 of 9 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown (on fourth and goal), adding four carries for 31 yards and an additional score while leading the Seahawks to a massive halftime advantage. He remained in the game for the early part of the second half, and finished 12 of 15 for 189 yards, a touchdown and a pick.
With Colts quarterback Andrew Luck out, Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford was our only hope for regular-season caliber football. Luckily, Stafford dressed for the game and started. He played in just one series. It took two minutes and three pass attempts for him to throw an interception. In all, he went 2 of 3 for 36 yards.
The NFL’s argument for this are, as one might guess, not at all related to the facts of Elliott’s case, but all about the CBA. (The NFLPA’s arguments are the same kind of thing; it’s very frustrating.)
